The Palmdale Playhouse,  38334 10th St East in Palmdale, this month is hosting a series of fine arts workshops..

These workshops are designed for individuals with little, or no painting experience. Three workshops will be offered: “Emerald Surge,” on Saturday, April 27, “Watching the Rising Sun,” on Saturday, May 11, and “The Oldest Bridge,” on Saturday, June 8. Each workshop will run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The fee is $20 per workshop.

All acrylic paint, written instructions, and photos are included in the workshop fee. Students need to supply brushes, palette, medium size canvas, and water container.

The workshop will be taught by Marco Aguilar, who comes from a family of artists, and studied art in his native Belize. His work relies on the play of light, and water, as he creates ocean creatures, and seascapes. He has been published in “Best of Acrylic Painting,” “Artist Magazine,” and  “Art Journey: Animals.” Aguilar is also a member of the Ocean Artists Society, an alliance of the world’s top marine life artists, sculptors, painters, photographers, and filmmakers who foster interest in ocean, and marine life issues.

“If you don’t have any experience with painting but have always wanted to give it a try, then these workshops are for you.” Palmdale’s Recreation Supervisor Annie Pagliaro said.

Seating is limited. To register go to www.palmdaleplayhouse.com. For more information, call (661) 267-5684.
