Discussions and design plans are continuing for the long-anticipated skate park in Watts. Councilman Joe Buscaino (District 15) invited residents recently to voice their concerns about safety measures in and around the facility to be constructed at  Wilmington Avenue and Imperial Highway. More community meets are scheduled.

Rep. Nanette Diaz Barragan (CA-44) will sponsor a job fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the Dollarhide Community Center, 301 N. Tamarind Ave., in Compton. There will be representatives  from the California Employment Development Department, Rancho Dominguez-America’s Job Center of California, City of Compton, Compton YouthBuild, South Bay Workforce Investment Fund, Volunteers of America-Los Angeles, and Compton College.
