KJLH Empowerment Summit set tomorrow at Cal State Dominguez Hills

The Second Annual KJLH Men’s Empowerment Conference will take place tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cal State Dominguez Hills. Breakfast will be served at 8 a.m.

Sponsored by Urban Issues Forum Inc., the conference will will discuss “Entrepreneurship: Be Your Own Boss,” criminal justice reform, “Relationships: Keeping it Real and Raw,” mental health issues, mentorship, getting your kids to college, father’s rights, “Bank On Your Success” and “The Business of Cannabis.”

The keynote speaker will be attorney Benjamin Crump. Dr. Anthony Asadullah Samad will moderate a panel discussion on “Racism in America,” while featured panelists will include author and economist Dr. Julianne Malveaux, author and commentator Dr. Cleo Manago, and Dr. Kelly Lytle-Hernandez, director of the UCLA Ralph Bunche Center.

State Sen. Steven Bradford (35th District), Cal State Dominguez Hills President Dr. Thomas Parham, and a host of other local and national figures will discuss empowerment of African American men in the nation’s communities.
