Film producer Will Packer and actor/rapper Chris “Ludacris” Bridges helped raise more than $300,000 for the Stacey Abrams gubernatorial campaign on Sunday, Oct. 21, reports the Atlanta Journal Constitution. They brought a raft of celebrities to Packer’s Atlanta home, including Chris Tucker, Tiffany Haddish, Kelly Rowland, Marlon Wayans, LaToya Luckett, Marsai Martin and Tyrese Gibson. Packer, who has produced an array of hit films such as “Ride Along,” “Girls Trip” and “Think Like a Man,” in a text dubbed the event “amazing.” Abrams is currently in a close race with Republican candidate Brian Kemp for the governor’s seat in Georgia. If she wins, the will become the state’s first Black and first female governor.
