Starbucks Corporation, operator of the popular coffeehouse chain, has announced plans to close its Ladera
Heights location at 5301 W. Centinela Ave. effective Oct. 21.
The closure was confirmed to Our Weekly by property management for the Ladera Heights location.
Reportedly, when individuals patronizing the coffee shop were informed about the closing, many felt they
(Starbucks) did not make a public announcement for fear of protest.
According to James Carr, a regular patron: “I think we should do everything possible to keep this location
open. It is convenient and frequented by many residents.”
Starbucks was founded in Seattle, Wash. in 1971. As of 2018, the company operated 28,218 locations
worldwide.
