Hip-hop entertainment mogul Russell Simmons has been sued for $10 million for allegedly raping a woman in a Los Angeles-area hotel room.

In a complaint filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, a woman identified only as Jane Doe accused Simmons of raping her after the two went to a nightclub from a concert where they had met.

The suit gives little detail about where or when the alleged incident took place.

Simmons has been accused by at least nine women of various forms of sexual misconduct, and was sued in January in Los Angeles federal court for allegedly raping an aspiring filmmaker at his home two years ago. In a statement, Simmons, 60, denied all claims against him.

“I vehemently deny all the allegations made against me,” he said. “They have shocked me to my core as I have never been abusive or violent in any way in my relations with women. I have submitted myself to multiple lie detector tests. I denied forced sex and sexual harassment allegations brought against me in each test; I also answered no to the question, ‘Have you ever physically forced any woman to have sexual intercourse?’ I passed all of the lie detector tests.’’

In the suit, the anonymous woman alleges that Simmons lured her to his hotel room, threw her on the bed and raped her. She contends that they first met at a concert she attended with her young son and that Simmons invited her to an after-party.

She alleges that after dropping off her son, she and Simmons spent time at a nightclub before moving to his hotel because he said he needed to get something from the room.

The complaint seeks $10 million in damages for forcible rape, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligent infliction of emotional distress.
