Louis Gossett Jr. named executive producer of Muhammad Ali documentary

America and much of the rest of the world had a fascination with former boxing champion Muhammad Ali that continued well after his boxing days were over, as he stayed in the public eye as a champion of the people as well. His funeral was a national event and was attended by a lot of political dignitaries and celebrities, many of which who also spoke on him as a civil rights activist and inspiring figure. He was a storied individual and now a new documentary is being put together called “Ali’s Comeback: The Untold Story,” with actor Louis Gossett Jr. acting as executive producer. The movie has been shot and is in post-production with an expected release date later this year. According to a press release, the documentary focuses on the efforts of prominent leaders in Atlanta to secure the rights for Ali to fight there, despite powerful and threatening opposition. Gossett Jr. also acts as a narrator of the film. Proceeds from “Ali’s Comeback” will go to Gossett’s Eracism Foundation, which is a non-profit that provides training for young people and adults by assisting them in living a racially and culturally diverse life.
