Book club will unpack novel ‘Black Klansman’

The Palmdale City Library, 700 E. Palmdale Blvd., will host the next meeting of the African-American Authors Book Club to discuss the novel “Black Klansman” by Ron Stallworth on Tuesday, Aug. 21, at 6:45 pm.

The book, which has now been adapted into a major motion picture directed by Spike Lee, is the real-life account of a black detective with the Colorado Springs Police Department who in 1978 infiltrated the Ku Klux Klan as an undercover member.

The African American Authors Book Club meets the third Tuesday of every month at 6:45 pm. New members are welcome to attend.

The Palmdale City Library is open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
