Pressure to released Meek Mill from prison for violating his probation came from politics, business and sports, including such public figures as New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft. And on Tuesday, April 24, the pressure was enough and the rapper was released. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ordered his release after Mill served five months of a 2-4-year sentence that drew criticism from across the country. His case was an example of the lack of balance in the criminal justice system when it comes to people of color. Mill was treated to a limo ride as he walked out of prison by the co-owner of the Philadelphia 76ers (Michael Rubin), and then he was seen courtside at the team’s playoff game against the Milwaukee Bucks. At the game, Mill was flanked by Kevin Hart and Rubin.
