Maxwell to headline concert for social justice in New York

Soul singer Maxwell announced he will headline the Black Summer Night for Social Justice event that will also include Fantasia, Jasmine Sullivan and more n Aug. 11. According to Billboard, the purpose of the concert is to spark action in regards to civil rights issues locally and on the national scene. The show will take place at Queens Forest Hills Stadium, with a portion of proceeds will go toward “the movement” as well as the Southern Poverty Law Center. As the date nears, more artists are expected to be added to the roster. Tickets go on sale this Saturday, April 21.
