The city of Lancaster has announced the lineup for its annual “Season of Fun” with a preview of the many ...

As the weather gets cooler, the BooLVD Halloween & Harvest Festival will once again take place, on Saturday, Oct. 28. Now in its eighth year, the event features new hours, 1 - 5 p.m. This festival always offers a safer alternative to traditional trick-or-treating. In addition, groups and families are invited to participate in the annual BooLVD Costume Contest.

For the little ones, AV Dance Studio 81 will once again offer a kid-friendly haunted house. The BLVD will also feature a corn maze, as well as an expan0ded pumpkin patch. In addition, there will be plenty of autumn-themed activities for the entire family to enjoy. Harvest-style attractions will include carnival games, vendors, cookie & pumpkin decorating, and ghostly train rides. Additional details will be posted on the event webpage as the date nears:www.cityoflancasterca.org/BooLVD.

Wrapping up The BLVD event season will be A Magical BLVD Christmas on Dec. 9. A family favorite since 2010, the event has become an Antelope Valley Christmastime tradition. The spectacular annual celebration, held on The BLVD between Beech and Genoa Avenues, always includes breathtaking entertainment, festive decorations, and Christmastime activities.

With the BLVD transformed into a charming winter wonderland, this event offers attendees the opportunity to ride a holiday train or sleigh; make original crafts at Santa's Workshop; stop for seasonal short films on Date Avenue; and experience the North Pole Petting Zoo. In addition, real snow transported from the local mountains will create a children's sledding area right on The BLVD.

A live ice sculpting demonstration will once again amaze attendees as a solid block of ice is transformed into a one-of-a-kind holiday work of art. That evening, the Antelope Valley Transportation Authority (AVTA) “Stuff-a-Bus” holiday gift campaign will once again make a stop on The BLVD, with attendees invited to bring new, unwrapped toys to help families in need enjoy the holidays. There will also be numerous holiday shopping opportunities at the event's Christkindlmarkt and many BLVD businesses. As the event draws near, additional details will be available atwww.cityoflancasterca.org/magical.
