‘Spooky Story Night’ in Newhall

The Santa Clarita community is invited to a free “Spooky Story Night” from 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 28 at The MAIN theater, 24266 Main St. in Old Town Newhall.
Tales of terror, ghosts, witches and monsters will keep guests entertained and intrigued. With backgrounds in writing, producing, performing and comedy, featured storytellers will wield their skills to produce an evening of extreme spookiness.
Steve Saracino, the first performer of the evening, draws from experience in acting, writing, music composition and improv.
Sam Feirstein, writer, television producer and performer, holds multiple Moth StorySLAM awards. His story, “Alaska Bingo,” can be heard on the KCRW podcast series Strangers and he was recently featured on an episode titled “My Former Enemy” in KCRW’s “Unfictional” series.
Ty Fance can be found performing at the Story Salon, The Altadena Coffee Gallery Backstage Theater, the Hollywood Improv and the Pasadena Ice House Comedy Club. He also produces and performs a storytelling show titled Off My Head.
2017 Moth StorySLAM award-winner, Katya Duft is a public transit blogger (Tales From the Bus) and frequent participant in L.A. storytelling shows like “BUSted,” “Tattle Tales,” “Bada Bing Bada Boom,” All the Feels,” “Oh Hey Guys” and more.
Oscar Sagastume has a story and a joke for all occasions. Sagastume has performed across the country and he is a three-time Moth StorySLAM winner. He has hosted shows at the House of Blues, Disneyland, and the Rose Bowl.
Alex Stein lives in Los Angeles. He is a writer, documentary filmmaker and storyteller.
Joseph R. Stellin, Jr. will recite several poems about classic monsters from the ‘30s and ‘40s. He has contributed articles to the Santa Clarita Signal newspaper and has worked in two different anthologies, “The Language of Love” and “Waiting at the Train Station.”
