Singer Mariah Carey and former fiancé James Packers have agreed on a settlement over the break up of their engagement. According to multiple sources, Carey will receive as much as $10 million from the Australian billionaire. Carey actually was asking for $50 million. Carey will also be able to keep the 35-carat diamond engagement ring Packer gave her. Carey was in the midst of planning an elaborate wedding when the two split. A bitter fight began. Although Packer said in an interview with People that Carey was “a woman of substance,” he also said “it was a mistake for her and a mistake for me.” Since the split, Carey has spent time with ex-husband Nick Cannon and has also dated dancer Brian Tanaka.
