The Lancaster Museum of Art and History (MOAH) and Lamar Advertising are presenting through Sunday #ArtOutdoorAV, a project featuring the work of 10 local artists across 20 billboards throughout the Antelope Valley. Billboards will be on display through Nov. 12.

ArtOutdoorAV is a joint campaign between MOAH, Lamar Advertising, and the Lancaster Museum and Public Art Foundation (LMPAF). Billboards featuring the artists’ work are located along The BLVD Cultural District, as well as throughout the greater Antelope Valley region. During the month of September, MOAH invited artists from Los Angeles County’s 5th Supervisorial District to submit their artwork for consideration. To be eligible, artwork must have been created within the past three years and must not have been previously exhibited at MOAH or MOAH:CEDAR.

A panel of jurors—consisting of the museum’s curatorial staff, LMPAF’s board of directors, and Lamar Advertising’s management team—reviewed all submissions, selecting works in which artists embraced the opportunity to tell stories about place. The selected artists represent the diversity and spirit of the Antelope Valley and its inhabitants. Featured #ArtOutdoorAV artists include: Nuri Amanatullah, Marthe Aponte, Tina Dille, Julius Eastman, Astin Ferreras, Michael Jones, Stevie Love, Susan Sironi, Jane Szabo, and Edwin Vasquez.

Maps to billboard locations are available at MOAH, MOAH:CEDAR, and at www.lancastermoah.org. The museum encourages community members to participate in this outdoor art experience by sharing photos of the billboards using #ARTOUTDOORAV.

MOAH is located at 44933 Fern Ave. Hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday. For details, call (661) 723-6000 or visit www.lancastermoah.org.
