The Lancaster City Council recently welcomed Rev. Darrell Dorris as the town’s newest deputy mayor. Dorris is pastor of Living Faith Cathedral in Lancaster and has resided locally since 1998.

“Darrell is an incredible addition to the city of Lancaster, and is expected to be a valuable asset as deputy mayor,” said Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris. “His devotion to faith and family resonates deeply with many who reside here in Lancaster, and I am eager to see what fresh ideas he will bring to the table in his new role—all emblematic of a passion to rebuild lives and provide for a healthy and vibrant community.”

A native of the South Bay, Dorris spent several years with the Los Angeles County probation office and formerly worked in the aerospace industry. He and  his wife, Evangelist Roshunda Dorris, have four children.

“I’m just a pastor who loves God and my community,” Dorris said. “I am only 44 years old, which means I still have a lot to give. I want to bring my piece to the puzzle.”
