What may have been a dispute between a South Los Angeles restaurant worker and a customer ended in a shooting this week, leaving two men inside the eatery with non-life-threatening injuries.
The gunfire was reported about 4:15 p.m. Monday in the 800 block of East Manchester Avenue, between Central Avenue and Avalon Boulevard, Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Officer Mike Lopez said.
According to the watch commander at the LAPD’s 77th Street Station, witnesses said a customer argued with an employee at Carolyn’s Kitchen then left, but returned and fired shots at the employee, who armed himself and shot back.
The victims were inside the restaurant when they were wounded, police said.
A restaurant employee told NBC4 the two victims were workers at the eatery, and the shooting was prompted by an argument between three people in the restaurant.
There were no reports of any arrests.
