Officials are installing a new football field at Paraclete High School in Lancaster. Thanks to the Calandri family, which owns locally-based Sonrise Farms, the team is expected to play on new turf, when football season begins in the fall.

“Paraclete High School has a very proud history of raising generation after generation of leaders here in the Antelope Valley,” said Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris. “The Calandri family’s magnificent act of generosity—in providing a newer, safer field—means that the family is not just investing in a local school, they are indeed investing in the future of our generations of leaders to come.”

Paraclete High has a history of outstanding athletic teams, and has produced a number of star athletes such as Todd Davis of the Denver Broncos. The academic programs have seen a number of alumni who have gone on to excel in numerous professional arenas.

“It is a blessing to be part of a community which is so supportive of each other—where successful business people such as the Calandris are committed to ‘giving back’ to their local community,” said Paraclete High School Principal John Anson. “We are honored and humbled by their generous gift, which will result in a tremendous asset to this institution and our athletes.”
