Authorities this week released the name of a woman who was stabbed to death in Santa Clarita, and whose live-in girlfriend was questioned as part of the ongoing investigation.
Authorities were called to the 18700 block of Vista Del Canon early April 8 evening and pronounced Christine Himmel, 46, dead at the scene, the coroner’s office reported.
The victim’s mother called deputies at 5:46 p.m. that day to report that she was with her daughter’s girlfriend, who allegedly said she had killed Himmel during an altercation, said Deputy Kimberly Alexander of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Detectives questioned the girlfriend, whose name was withheld, and the investigation was continuing, the sheriff’s department reported.
