A woman is in custody today in connection with the hit- and-run death of a pedestrian in Sylmar, police said.
The victim, a man in his 50s, was struck about 7 a.m. Monday in the 15500 block of Foothill Boulevard and died at the scene, the Los Angeles Police Department reported. His name was withheld pending family notification.
Susan Hensley, 65, of Canyon Country, was arrested Monday night and booked on suspicion of felony hit-and-run, said Detective Bill Bustos of the LAPD’s Valley Traffic Division. She was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
The victim’s pickup truck became disabled, and he got out and was hit by a car, which kept going, police said.
