MOAH announces Cultural Plan

The Lancaster Museum of Art and History (MOAH) has announced its five-year Cultural Plan designed to enhance the city’s overall image while encouraging residents to participate more in the arts.

Scheduled to begin in August, the Cultural Plan will first witness an expansive mural project that will adorn buildings throughout the downtown district. Artists from throughout Southern California will paint site-specific murals, including a massive piece that will cover the northern wall of MOAH. The walls inside the museum and the Cedar Center for the Arts will house pieces created by local youth, thereby placing more focus on arts and culture among the city’s young people. The idea is similar to that of the CEDARFEST student high school art exhibition conducted in April.

MOAH is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, and from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday. For more details about upcoming exhibits, visit www.lancastermoah.org.
