The city of Lancaster and Kid’s Charities encourage residents to mark their calendars for the June 10 Thunder Cruise In from 6 to 9 p.m. on the BLVD loop between Genoa and Beech avenues.

The free event is a kickoff to the annual Thunder on the Lot event June 11-12 at Lancaster City Park; the June 10 event will feature live entertainment at the BeX Bandstand where The Fulcos will perform. Thunder on the Lot is a popular event that features a motorcycle show, classic/custom car shows, a low rider show, motorcycle stunt riders, a “burn-out” contest, and an early-morning poker run. The weekend attraction will also include a new casino night, live music on two stages, raffle giveaways (including a new Harley-Davidson motorcycle), a carnival, kid’s activities and continuous $1 raffles for prizes.

Thunder on the Lot benefits Kid’s Charities which itself supports 25 local organizations by directing funds toward assisting disadvantaged children throughout the Antelope Valley. Founded in 1995 by local businessman Ron Emard, Thunder on the Lot has raised more than $4.7 million to date.

To participate in the June 10 cruise, classic car owners and motorcycle riders should arrive by 5 p.m. No registration is necessary. Participants will line up in the parking lot of Lancaster City Hall, 44933 Fern Ave., just north of the BLVD which will be closed temporarily from 4 to 9:30 p.m. between Genoa and Beech avenues.
