The Lancaster Chamber of Commerce is looking for sponsors and parade entries for its Antelope Valley Fair Parade scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Aug. 20. The parade on The BLVD serves as the unofficial start of the Antelope Valley Fair and Alfalfa Festival Aug. 19-28.

The parade this year will be expanded to include a new festival showcasing the region’s rich agricultural history, as well as the role that agriculture plays in the community. Exhibitors will be available to provide valuable, hands-on educational experiences for all attendees; there will also be a kid’s craft area and a number of giveaways for the entire family. The festival begins shortly after the parade and will continue until 1 p.m.

The chamber encourages local businesses and organizations to get involved by entering a float which should embody this year’s parade theme: “Who Let the KIDS Out?” Winner for best entry will be selected at the conclusion of the parade. To enter a float, complete the necessary forms at tinyurl.com/AVFairParadeApp2016. Entries must be received no later than Aug. 12.

The parade is sponsored by the AV Fair Association, Lancaster Auto Mall, sPower, Lancaster West Rotary, Los Angeles County Farm Bureau, The BLVD Association, Signs and Designs, Learn 4Life, Lancaster Choice Energy and REVIVE 25.
