Country star LeAnn Rimes will perform at 8 p.m. tomorrow to begin the Palmdale Summer Concert Series at the Palmdale Amphitheater, 2723 Rancho Vista Blvd.

Rimes has had 42 singles reach the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, 13 of which became Top 10 hits. Among her hits are “Can’t Fight the Moonlight” which went No. 1 in 11 countries, and “How Do I Live” which is the second-longest charting song in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Rimes may be most recognized, however, by her debut single “Blue” which brought immediate fame to the then-teenager.

With more than 44 million albums sold, two Grammy Awards, three Academy of Country Music Awards and 12 Billboard Music Awards, Rimes is the youngest recipient of a Grammy Award and was the first country recording artist to win in the “Best New Artist” category.

General admissions tickets are $20 (day-of-show $25) and are available at www.palmdaleamphitheater.com. VIP seating is sold out.

The Summer Concert Series enters its 12th year. On July 30, enjoy “Super Soul Saturday: A Party for the Decades” featuring DJ Streak, Bump City and Stone Soul. The “Get Jazzed” series will feature Herbie Kae and Tony Capko Band, and Gina Eckstine and The Bill Fulton Band on Aug. 6, while R&B legends The Commodores will appear on Sept. 10.

Tickets for Super Soul Saturday and the Get Jazzed concerts begin at $8. Commodores tickets start at $16.

Among the sponsors of the concert series are AV Furniture & Mattress, Antelope Valley Mall, BJ’s Restaurant Brewhouse, Lancaster JetHawks and Sierra Medical Group.
