Chronic Tacos will celebrate the opening of its newest U.S. location, in Palmdale, on July 16 with an eating contest. A grand opening party will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 39604 10th Street West, Suite B1.

The celebration will include a variety of interactive events such as an opportunity to compete in a amateur taco-eating contest where the winner will receive a $100 Chronic Tacos gift card. You can win one free taco among the first 50 patrons, and a chance to meet professional skateboarder and television personality Jason “Wee Man” Acuna. A Mariachi band will perform as well. There will also be free food samples and a number of giveaways.

“The Taco Life vision began in Southern California and we’ve remained dedicated to our roots,” said Michael Mohammed, CEO of Chronic Tacos. “Having celebrated the recent success of Valencia’s opening and now in Palmdale, we’re excited to continue our California roll-out with five more restaurants to offer even more access to high-quality, authentic Mexican recipes to our local communities.”

On July 16, 20 percent of sales will benefit Grace Resources, a local nonprofit organization that assists the community’s underprivileged residents.
