Palmdale residents who wish to delve into their family tree can attend a free “Genealogy and the Internet” session tomorrow at 11 a.m. at the Chimbole Cultural Center, 38350 Sierra Highway.

Karla Archuleta, a representative with Lancaster Cemetery, will host the class and is expected to expand on two earlier genealogy sessions and discuss which websites are the best to use, and also provide tips for novice researchers. Attendees can bring their laptops and follow along with Archuleta’s research plan.

“If you are interested in researching your family history online—but are not sure where to start—this class is for you,” said Debra Petersen, assistant library director. “We are excited to have Karla back to demonstrate the ‘ins and outs’ of online genealogy research.”

The Palmdale City Library has a number of books about the popular pastime of family genealogy. It is open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
