Sheriff’s investigators and Littlerock residents are continuing to search for a missing 28-year-old mother. Monique “Mo” Figueroa has been missing since May, and her family believes she was abducted.
Family and friends conducted recently a vigil at Littlerock Community Church to both raise awareness and money to help find the woman. Her father, Jeff Figueroa, asked attendees to help raise funds for a private investigator to speed up the search. Figueroa also said he has been somewhat frustrated about the approach taken by law enforcement in the search for his daughter.
Figueroa learned last weekend that someone had received an incoming call from his daughter’s missing smartphone. The anonymous friend is said to have attempted to call back the user of the missing phone, but there was no response. Figueroa contacted the Sherifff’s department, but investigators reportedly informed him that it was “too late” to track the phone because it had been shut off by the user.
“My opinion is that if they would have jumped on it right away, they might (have) been able to ping the phone and find out where that phone was,” Figueroa said. “I’m very upset with the police department.”
Family and friends have sold T-shirts featuring the woman’s face, and have distributed flyers in hope that she is still within the Littlerock community.
Monique Figueroa was last seen May 19 driving from her residence at about 4 a.m. Her abandoned 2004 Mercedes-Benz was found May 30 off a road in Juniper Hills. Authorities then released a “missing person” special bulletin.
