The city of Lancaster, along with Ron and Yvette Emard of Kids Charities, announced this week a new partnership with “Thunder on the Lot,” a popular car and motorcycle show that will move this year to Lancaster City Park on June 26-28.

Founded in 1985 by Ron Emard of Antelope Valley Harley Davidson, Thunder on the Lot provides funds for Kids Charities which was begun in 2000 to provide assistance to disadvantaged children in the Antelope Valley. The organization serves more than 30 local children’s charitable organizations with the goal of helping youth the community who “need it most.” To date, Kids Charities has raised more than $4 million.

“The city of Lancaster is happy to partner with Kids Charities and to advance this altruistic cause,” said Lancaster Vice Mayor Marvin Crist. “We are thrilled to host this year’s event at Lancaster City Park, and look forward to furthering the partnership and growth of Thunder on the Lot in the years ahead.”

The partnership between Lancaster and Kids Charities has assisted the “hot rod” event raise funds for a number of charities. The new collaboration will also mark the return of The BLVD Thunder Cruise-In on Friday, June 25, kicking off the weekend’s festivities.
