Police are asking for the public’s help to find a 4-year-old boy who was last seen with his mother who does not have custody but who is also missing.

The father, Daniel Adrian Shoppell, who has sole legal custody, had agreed Wednesday to have the boy’s mother, Jasmine Tatum, meet for a two-hour visit with the son, Cameron Tatum, police said.

The father received a text message from the mother at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, saying she would drop the child off at the taxi zone at Union Station at 10 a.m., police said.

Shoppell drove to Union Station, searched the property, but did not find Cameron. It is not known if Cameron was dropped off at or around Union Station. Shoppell made numerous attempts to contact the boy’s mother but could not find her, according to police.

Authorities described Cameron as a light-complected Black boy, with black hair and brown eyes. He is 3 feet tall and weighs 35 pounds. He was wearing a short sleeve, gray, button down shirt, tan shorts and blue Nike tennis shoes.

Jasmine Tatum, police said, is 26, Black, 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 110 pounds.

Anyone with information on the case was asked to call LAPD’s Hollenbeck Division at (323) 342-4101 or 911. Tipsters can also call the LAPD’s 24-hour tipline at (877) LAPD-24-7. All tips can be made anonymously, police said.
