Carson celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with music and festivity

Grammy Award Winner Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea takes centerstage as the City of Carson presents the first Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration in the city.

The festivities will take place on Sunday, September 21 from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. at Carson Park located at 21411 S. Orrick Avenue in Carson.  The event is open to the public and admission is free.

The performers featured in this year’s program include the Tlanextli Tlacotan Aztec Dancers, Grupo Folklorico Faisan, Pasion Latina, Alma Latina, Raices Peruanas, Alma De Oro, and Carson’s very own Mariachi Academy.  Comedian Ralph Figueroa will be emcee for the event.

National Hispanic Heritage Month recognizes the contributions of Hispanic and Latino-Americans in the United States and celebrates the group’s heritage and culture.
