The BET Experience returns to L.A. LIVE

The city is abuzz as Los Angeles prepares for three days of entertainment at L.A. LIVE for The BET Experience.

The 2014 BET Awards will be held at the Nokia Theatre and a host of festivities will run June 27-29.

L.A. LIVE is the leading entertainment district in Los Angeles offering six live entertainment venues, a 14-screen cinema, the GRAMMY Museum, and nineteen dining experiences. It’s the host of the GRAMMYs, EMMYs, American Music Awards, ESPYs, BET Awards, American Idol Finals and a year’s worth of red carpet premieres.

This year’s BET Experience lineup, performing at the world-famous Staples Center, will feature some of today’s most popular artists including: Mary J Blige, Maxwell, Jill Scott, Trey Songz, A$ap Rocky, Rick Ross, Jennifer Hudson, Marsha Ambrosius, K. Michelle, and Ty Dolla $ign.

In addition, BET Fanfest returns to the Los Angeles Convention Center and will feature interactive exhibits and free giveaways. Highlights of the event include:

Music Matters:

Spotlights the next BET superstars live on stage, past performances have included Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Miguel and Estelle.

BET Genius Talks Seminars:

Celebrity-filled seminars featuring “real talk” on money, culture, entertainment, family, celebrity and relationships.

106 and Park:

BET’s flagship show will feature hosts Bow Wow & Keshia Chante as they interview R&B and Hip Hop stars in front of a live audience.

SneakerCon:

The premier traveling event for sneaker connoisseurs to buy, sell and trade some of the most sought after footwear on the market.

Sprite Celebrity Basketball Game:

The Sprite Celebrity Basketball Game will be coached by Washington Redskins’ wide receiver DeSean Jackson and New York Knicks power forward Kenyon Martin. The celebrity players include: Snoop Dogg, Mike Epps, Flex Alexander, Brandon T. Jackson, Jay Ellis, Tank, Cory Hardrict,  Bobby V, JB Smoove, Ben Lyons, Tammy “T-Time” Brawner, LaSean McCoy, Cedric Ceballos, Cory Maggette, Terrell Owens and Anthony Lewis. The event will be hosted by Chris Spencer. Ron “Metta World Peace” Artest will DJ the event.

Also scheduled is the BETX Film Festival at Regal Cinemas. Films being featured include “Purple Rain,” “1982,” “Evolution of a Criminal,” “They Die By Dawn,” “12 O’clock Boys,” and “Confusion Na Wa.”

Attendees will also get a chance to meet and mingle with stars from their favorite shows at the BET and Centric Pavilion throughout the weekend.

Included in the festivities are a multitude of workshops, youth clinics, watch parties, a fashion show, a comedy show, a Gospel choir showcase hosted by Bishop Hezekiah Walker, and much more.
