Santa Clarita Transit expands Summer Beach Bus and Noho Express services

Santa Clarita Transit invites residents to enjoy expanded NoHo Express and Summer Beach Bus services starting today and tomorrow respectively.

Beginning Saturday, and continuing every Saturday and Sunday through Aug. 31, Santa Clarita residents can catch a ride to Santa Monica Beach with Santa Clarita Transit aboard the Summer Beach Bus. Two routes are available on Saturdays, with one route serving the east side of the city and the other route serving the west side. One route will operate on Sundays.

Summer Beach Bus pick-up locations include: Santa Clarita Park, Canyon Country Park, Soledad Canyon Road and Solamint Drive, Soledad Canyon Road and Shangri-La Drive, Via Princessa Metrolink Station, Santa Clarita Metrolink Station, Cinema Drive Park ’N Ride, and the McBean Regional Transit Center.

Buses arrive in Santa Monica between 10 and 10:15 a.m. and depart for Santa Clarita at 4:30 p.m., an hour later than last year. Children over 5 years and adults ride for $3 each way, while seniors 60 years and older and people with disabilities ride for $1.50 each way. In response to requests from the community, Santa Clarita Transit also announced extended summer hours for the NoHo Express on Friday and Saturday nights. Beginning today and continuing through Saturday, Aug. 30, the NoHo Express will offer service to and from North Hollywood until 12:15 a.m. From there, riders can take the Metro Red Line to popular Los Angeles hot spots like the Hollywood Bowl, Universal Studios, Hollywood and Highland, the Pantages Theater and LA LIVE.

The NoHo Express will depart from several locations in Santa Clarita beginning at 6 p.m., with the last trip heading back to Santa Clarita at 12:15 a.m.

Tickets for the NoHo Express are $2.50 each way for adults and children over 5 years, while seniors 60 years of age and older and individuals with disabilities ride for $1.25 each way.
