Councilman Curren D. Price, Jr. established the Council District 9 Business Resource Center (CD9 BRC) in his Constituent Field Office, located at 4301 S. Central Avenue in December 2013 for the purpose of fostering business growth and job creation and retention within Council District Nine.
The BRC will provide financial assistance to small business owners and entrpreneurs; it will also give them valuable information on how to launch and grow a successful enterprise.
Although these resources are already being provided by Distinguished Business Development Partners at their respective Los Angeles locations, the CD9 BRC is helping the business community by bringing their services to District 9 on a regular rotating basis.
As the District’s focal point for information and resource, the CD9 Business Resource Center will serve as a distribution channel to host, conduct, and facilitate a myriad of business events and training throughout the year, including business development and technical assistance services, and access to capital and contracts.
One of the first events, Business Basics: the ABC’s to Recovery and Growth will be held today from 10am to noon, and will discuss valuable resources to increase business productivity including marketing, financing, and business planning. The course if free, but RSVP is appreciated as space is limited.
More events are being planned for the near future.
