The Board of Supervisors this week approved a $10,000 reward for information leading to the man who sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl in a Palmdale restaurant.

Supervisor Michael Antonovich, who recommended the reward, said deputies believe they have identified the suspect using video surveillance.

“The suspect is believed to be a local panhandler known as `Shrink,”’ Antonovich said.

Investigators said the young man, estimated to be 18 to 20 years old, attacked the girl on New Year’s Day in the restroom of a Denny’s restaurant in the 37000 block of 47th Street East.

The suspect sexually assaulted the youngster as she exited one of the stalls. He “stopped his assault when another person entered the bathroom, and fled the location,” according to the sheriff’s department.

The attacker was described as White, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds. He had blond hair, walked with a “noticeable limp.”

Anyone with information about his whereabouts was asked to call sheriff’s Detective Eliott Uribe at (877) 710-5273.
