The city of Lancaster will again present the lights and sounds of Christmas tomorrow as the fifth annual A Magical BLVD Christmas takes place downtown from 5 to 9 p.m.
“A Magical BLVD Christmas serves as a perfect example of what the city of Lancaster has to offer to the many deserving residents of the Antelope Valley,” said Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris. “Walking along the BLVD and witnessing the merry faces of people coming together as a community in a time of celebration and cheer is truly a beautiful, heart-warming sight.”
The holiday spectacular on the BLVD between Beech and Genoa avenues will include spectacular entertainment. The Fashionate Rhythm Dance and Entertainment Company will present “Christmas Extravadance” on the main stage at Cedar Avenue. The 20-minute song-and-dance revue will include performances by the Saturday Night Singers and the Quartz Hill High School A’Cappella Choir. The Trinity Community Church will perform at both the Cedar Avenue stage and at the BeX Bandstand at Ehrlich Avenue.
Families may also partake in a number of holiday activities, including unleashing their creativity at Santa’s workshop; riding through the streets on a colorful holiday train; viewing stroll-by movie shorts (“Shrek the Halls” and “Merry Madagascar”) at Date Avenue, or helping to create a holiday mural. There will be a live ice sculpting demonstration and many photo opportunities will be available with Santa, Mrs. Claus and other Christmas scenes. The popular children’s sledding area—with real snow—will also be featured.
The Antelope Valley Transportation Authority will be there to host its annual “Stuff-A-Bus” holiday gift campaign. Attendees are invited to bring a new, unwrapped toy to help a needy family.
“What better way to celebrate the ‘season of giving’ than to give to families in need?,” asked Lancaster Vice Mayor Marvin Crist. “We encourage attendees at A Magical BLVD Christmas to join AVTA for the annual ‘Stuff-A-Bus’ campaign, and make this Christmas a holiday to remember.”
