On Aug. 16, the National Congress of Black Women (NCBW) will host their fifth anniversary awards and scholarship luncheon at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles beginning at 11 a.m.
The organization will honor special guests including Connie Turner, public affairs regional manager of Southern California Edison; Mike Harriel, public affairs regional manager of Southern California Gas; and astronaut Stephanie D. Wilson. The honorees will be recognized for how they have contributed to their communities, and how they’ve made a difference.
In addition to honoring awardees, the luncheon is an opportunity to fundraise by allowing guests to bid on exclusive auction items, meet and mingle with the honorees and sponsors, and enjoy live music.
Linda Clemons, a body language expert and NCBW member, will be the keynote speaker at this year’s event; television personality Omarosa Manigault will serve as mistress of ceremonies.
The National Congress of Black Women has operated nationally and internationally as a non-profit organization for 30 years.
