On Tuesday, April 1, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) Major Crimes Bureau, executed a search warrant on the residence of suspected bank robber Walter Compton, a 50 year-old resident of Palmdale.
The search warrant stemmed from a bank robbery that occurred on March 12, at approximately 2:30 p.m., at the Union Bank located at 843 W. Lancaster Blvd., Lancaster. The suspect, who witnesses described as a Black male, approximately 50-60 years old, had walked into the Union Bank and demanded money from a teller. After the teller gave the suspect the money, he exited the bank. Responding LASD Lancaster Station deputies were unable to locate the suspect.
During the search warrant, LASD detectives recovered evidence believed to be related to the crime, and the suspect was arrested.
