The biennial conference of Top Ladies of Distinction Inc. (TLOD) recently drew approximately 300 ladies, including the Top Teens of America, an affiliate of TLOD, to the Grand Hyatt Hotel in San Antonio, Texas.

Members of the Top Teens of America (TTA) represented six areas from across the United States and participated in plenary sessions, workshops, a talent hour, national projects and programs, and other activities, including a TTA awards luncheon. The group also selected its top teen, a high school senior with outstanding academic grades, stood the chance of winning the $2,000 National Scholarship Award for academic excellence.

Kelsey Tate, a member of the Carson Chapter TTA, Area VI, and a student at Pacific Hills School, a private, independent day school in West Hollywood, won the award. “I am extremely proud and grateful to have been selected to receive such a prestigious award,” said the Southern California resident as she expressed her gratitude. “The National Top Teens of America Academic Scholarship which the Top Ladies of Distinction Inc. has generously awarded me brings me one step closer to my dream of becoming a medical doctor.”

TLOD Inc. is a service organization established since 1964, and is involved in ongoing programs and projects in the community, as well as its mission to serve youth and adults.
