The following Thanksgiving activities are happening to help the needy during this holiday time.

November 24

Evangelist Church plans to feed about 200 people during a Thanksgiving meal following its 10 a.m. service. The church is located at 7926 S. Avalon Blvd., Los Angeles. Info: (323) 338-8870.

November 26

Parents of Watts will give away turkeys from 10 a.m.-noon at 673 E. Imperial Highway, Los Angeles. (323) 566-0508.

November 27

A Place Called home will distribute food to the community, including turkey meat, from 8-9:30 a.m. at The Annex, 2901 S. Central Ave., Los Angeles. Info: (323) 232-7653.

November 28

Turkeys will be given away from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at 112th Street Elementary School, 1265 E. 112th St., Los Angeles, (323) 567-2108.

December 2

Council District 10 will begin accepting the names of low-income seniors living within the district boundaries who need a turkey for the Christmas holiday. Individuals should call on or after this day to get on the list. (213) 733-8233.
