Carson’s Top Ladies honor community service

Four Achievers of Excellence were honored recently by Top Ladies of Distinction Inc., Carson Chapter, at its seventh annual Status of Women luncheon held at The Reef, in Long Beach, Calif. The individuals were honored because of their impact on the lives of youth and adults in various communities.

The honorees were Pamela Williams, a community activist recognized for her fundraising efforts for the March of Dimes, the American Cancer Society, and various volunteer services.

Lisa Pullens is a pediatric hematology nurse coordinator, who for the past 34 years, has given specialty care in pediatrics at various hospitals. She now serves at the City of Hope Medical Center in Duarte.

Genevieve Shepherd, principal of the Tom Bradley Global Awareness Magnet, for her dedication and uniqueness in the mastery of education for youth.

Rev. Jerome Fisher, pastor emeritus of the Greater Zion Church Family, was recognized for his guidance, inspiration, and leadership in the community for the past 55 years.
