Three LA Galaxy players have been called for international competition and will represent their countries in the upcoming FIFA International games, the team announced today.
Omar Gonzalez will represent the United States in friendlies in Europe against Scotland on Friday and against Austria in Vienna four days later.
Meanwhile, Robbie Keane is with Ireland for the home friendly against Latvia on Friday and Poland on Nov. 19, while A.J. DeLaGarza will represent Guam for the first time in his career in friendlies against Cambodia and Laos.
Last week’s 2-0 overtime loss to Real Salt Lake in the conference semifinals marked the end of the Galaxy’s quest for a third consecutive MLS title. The team’s elimination in the semifinal is the Galaxy’s earliest exit from the playoffs since 2008.
Keane, a candidate for most valuable player, was the only player in the league to finish in the top four in goals and assists.
