A bicyclist was hit by a truck Wednesday in Santa Clarita and died at the scene.
The man, estimated to be between 38 and 45 years of age, was struck shortly before 8 a.m. near Magic Mountain Parkway and Railroad Avenue, coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter said. The victim’s name was being withheld pending notification of his family.
The bicyclist had been riding north on Railroad Avenue on the sidewalk where it enters the roadway and crosses Magic Mountain Parkway. The truck driver, who was turning from eastbound Magic Mountain Parkway to northbound Railroad Avenue, stopped at the scene and was questioned, sheriff’s deputies said.
