Palmdale’s parks and recreation department’s aquatics division in association with the LA84 Foundation is offering aquatics program scholarships to qualifying applicants. To qualify, individuals must be residents of Palmdale and no older than 17 years of age. Full and partial scholarships will be awarded based on family size and income level. Scholarships are limited to one per season, per child. Individuals must submit an application two weeks prior to the course start date.

“These scholarships can be used for swim lessons, swim team, water polo and adaptive aquatics,” said Recreation Coordinator Jacki Nuss. “It gives kids the opportunity to participate in programs that would otherwise be unavailable to them.”

Application forms may be downloaded from the city’s website at cityofpalmdale.org or picked up at the recreation and culture office at 38260 10th St., East Palmdale.  To receive an application by mail, please call (661) 267-5611.
