LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- A Los Angeles man pleaded not guilty today to murdering his girlfriend's 11-year-old son.
Rineson Curtis Adams, 26, is accused of using a knife May 27 to stab the boy, identified in the criminal complaint as "Jai L."
The criminal complaint also alleges that Adams has three prior felony convictions, including a burglary conviction in 1996 and two convictions for transportation and sale of a controlled substance in 1996 and 2008.
Adams is due back at the downtown Los Angeles courthouse June 21, when a date is scheduled to be set for a hearing to determine if there is enough evidence to require him to stand trial.
