COMPTON, Calif. — A 22-year-old man’s legs were severed today when he was struck by a freight train tank car in Compton.
Firefighters responded to the tracks at East Myrrh Avenue and Alameda Street about 4 p.m., according to the Sheriff’s Department.
It took firefighters about half an hour to get the freight train moved and free the man, who was taken to Long Beach Memorial Hospital.
