Netflix is definitely happy with the Emmy choices this year, but some TV fans aren’t impressed.

With (the fantastic, let’s be clear) “House of Cards” up to win the best drama series Emmy — a historic event, if it comes to pass — that means that some of the other outstanding TV dramas, like “The Walking Dead,” have been left out in the cold.

As CNN.com commenter Danny622 says, this past season of “TWD” may not have been its best, but there’s no getting around the fact that it’s one of the best shows on TV.

FX in particular has a surprisingly light presence on this year’s nominees list, given the greatness that can be found on “Justified,” “Sons of Anarchy” and new show “The Americans.” We know that this is a good problem to have – better too many great dramas on TV than a drought – but still: there really are more things happening on FX than “American Horror Story.”

Commenter LordRyus feels our pain, and also notes the other huge oversight of the day: no love for “Orphan Black’s” Tatiana Maslany. The BBC America star tackles multiple characters in her role as an orphan named Sarah who finds herself caught in an increasingly treacherous mystery, and she handles the challenge with ease.

“The emmys once again ignore genre shows, no wonder people care less and less about this award,” LordRyus said. “The lack of nomination for Tatiana Maslany is a travesty, no actress had harder shooting hours (18 hour shoots for months, 1 day off (lost her voice)) or pulled off multiple characters in a single show as well as she did before, ever.”

Bobby Weller agreed, commenting, “Yeah, I don’t care how many good drama shows there are, no lead actress has performed better than Tatiana Maslany. Not saying they can’t, but she has to play like 8 clones (3 of which are main characters) and her characters have to constantly interact with each other in scenes.. It seems almost impossible that someone can be that good at acting.”

While we’re talking about individual nods, “Parenthood” fans are not pleased that Monica Potter’s work hasn’t been called to the forefront.

On the comedy side, the lack of love for Fox’s “New Girl” and “The Mindy Project” was pretty shocking, and where’s “Parks and Recreation”? Amy Poehler is lovely, but so is the show and other members of its cast.

As much as we love the nominated leading actors in the comedy category, we think commenter Sister Valium (what a name!) makes a great point: “Not for nothing, but I think once you’ve won the award for your role/tv show, you shouldn’t be nominated for the same thing over and over.”
