This August, Lancaster will host the third annual Public Safety Fair and Emergency Preparedness Expo. The event will highlight both public safety services, and the means by which citizens can become better prepared for an emergency. The Public Safety Fair will also focus on ways those in the community can enjoy their neighborhood together, while creating a safer environment.

“The city’s annual Public Safety Fair offers residents an excellent opportunity to learn more about emergency preparedness and public safety, while connecting with local agencies and resources,” said Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris.

The free event will be held on Aug. 8, from 4-8 p.m. at American Hero’s Park, located at 701 W. Kettering St. After the event, residents are encouraged to return to their neighborhoods and engage their neighbors by hosting events such as neighborhood block parties or supervised group play sessions for kids.

Residents can register their neighborhood events with the Lancaster Public Safety Office to give deputies from the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station and city officials the opportunity to stop by and show their support. For more information or to register your neighborhood event, contact Lancaster’s Public Safety Office at (661) 723-6063 or by email at publicsafety@cityoflancasterca.org.
