High speed rail from Las Vegas to Palmdale piques interest

Recently, Robert Gaines, Sr., president/CEO of Veteran’s Southwest Industries, in conjunction with Senator Carol Liu, California Black Chamber of Commerce, PV Jobs, United Jobs Creation Council (UJCC), National Association of Minority Contractors (NAMC), Black Business Association (BBA), Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce (GLAAACC), Regional Black Chamber of Commerce of San Fernando Valley (RBCC), Black Business Council of Nevada, Victor Valley African American Chamber of Commerce, and the Antelope Valley Black Chamber of Commerce, held a meeting to discuss forming a collaborative effort regarding the upcoming XpressWest High Speed Rail from Las Vegas, Nev. to Palmdale, Calif.

The meeting was held at the PV Jobs Headquarters in downtown Los Angeles.

On Dec. 10, those same business leaders and community stakeholders will come together to share the news regarding the XpressWest project. Their mission is to educate, organize, and support disadvantaged businesses on the $9 billion project that will create more than 80,000 direct and indirect jobs. The meeting will be an opportunity to find out crucial information and not be left behind on this innovative project.
