Surprise! Surprise! Oprah crashes Sweetie Pies

I will admit I’m rooting for Oprah and her OWN network. Without a doubt this sister is going to fight for her company and do what it takes honestly and nobly to bring quality programming that will impact our lives in a positive manner.

To prove my point, take a look at girlfriend visiting Sweetie Pies in St. Louis. She didn’t have to stop by the restaurant; she could have called the owner, Miss Robbie Montgomery, with a bunch of pleasantries instead. That’s how it’s done Hollywood style, but this is Oprah style.

Oprah made a surprise visit to Sweetie Pie’s, a nationally acclaimed local soul food restaurant in St. Louis, featured on the popular OWN family docu-series “Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s.”

Oprah was in St. Louis for the live taping of “Oprah’s Lifeclass: The Tour,” held at the Peabody Opera House on Monday, March 26. Accompanied by her friend Gayle King, Oprah strode into Sweetie Pie’s, surprising the family, including owner Miss Robbie, her son Tim Norman, his fiancé Jenae Wallick and nephew Charles Crenshaw, in addition to hundreds of unsuspecting restaurant patrons who were dining.

The popular family docu-series “Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s” will return with all-new episodes Saturday at 9 p.m ET/PT on OWN. The cast will also be featured during Monday’s live “Oprah’s Lifeclass: The Tour” episode. Additionally, Charter Communications will launch OWN HD to subscribers in the St. Louis area beginning April 2012.
