George Zimmerman’s wife, Shellie, was arrested Tuesday and charged with one count of perjury for allegedly lying under oath at his bond hearing about whether she and her husband had access to any money.

She posted $1,000 bond and was released.

At Zimmerman’s April 20 bond hearing, Shellie Zimmerman, 25, was asked whether the couple had any money.

“Uhmm, not, not that I’m aware of,” she responded. But in an investigation regarding the matter it was found that Shellie had removed a sizeable amount of money from their account and moved it to a safety deposit box. It was also reported that she transferred $75,000 from her husband’s account into her own and returned it after he was released from jail.

George was not charged with perjury since he was never directly asked about their finances, but the judge revoked the previously granted $150,000 bond, and Zimmerman is back in jail where he has pleaded not guilty in the shooting of the unarmed teenager, Trayvon Martin.
