COMPTON, Calif.–Authorities today identified a man who was fatally shot in an unincorporated county area near Compton.
The shooting occurred about 3:40 p.m. Thursday in the 14000 block of Parmelee Avenue in unincorporated Rosewood, said Deputy Guillermina Saldana of the Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau.
Andre Deon Jones, 42, of Compton died a few minutes later at a hospital, said coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter.
Another man was also wounded in the shooting and hospitalized, Saldana said. No arrests were reported. The circumstances of the crime were under investigation.
